YWCA of Banff – Programs and Services

The YWCA of Banff’s Programs and Services’ (YPS) goals are to provide immediate information and referral services for individuals who are at a critical turning point, as well as women and their children who are experiencing family violence.  Specifically, the work of the YWCA of Banff builds a healthy community by helping to prevent domestic violence through prevention education, awareness and supportive counselling.

The YPS serves a client base of both women and men of all demographic and geographic backgrounds.  We serve local Bow Valley Residents, as well as international short term residents and travellers.

Approximately 90% of our family violence cases come from the Bow Valley and surrounding area.  Part of the Violence Prevention Outreach services we provide are community education and awareness activities.

The YPS office is the leading resource for Bow Valley residents at critical turning points. The YPS’s primary focus is on family violence prevention through education, programming, awareness events, and crisis intervention.  The work of the YPS assists clients in taking the next step forward in their lives.  The YPS provides free confidential information and referral services for the Bow Valley.  Our friendly, trained staff will help support individuals through crisis’s or provide information to find the appropriate support services.
